THE SCOUT: Group Sales for Next Year’s King Tut Show Now Available
Marking the final stop of its North American tour, “Tutankhamum and the Golden Age of the Pharoahs,” comes to New York next spring with an exhibition at the Discovery Times Square Exposition facility. Group sales for the show, organized by National Geographic, Arts and Exhibitions International, and AEG Exhibitions, starts today. This, the final leg of the tour, runs from late April through December 2010, before the artifacts head back to Cairo. On display will be more than 130 ancient objects, which range in age from 3,300 to 3,500 years old. There are more than 50 pieces from King Tut’s tomb, including the gold crown used on his mummy. The exhibition marks the first time a show of treasures culled form Tut’s tomb have been presented in New York since the Met’s 1979 blockbuster exhibit. Group ticketing is available for 15 or more guests, and adult prices start at $25.50 each; special on-site lunch boxes and meal packages will also be available.

THE SCOUT: 3 New York Teambuilding Ideas to Get Groups Bonding
Looking for some fall bonding activities? Here are three offerings for a variety of different groups. In the Gym: Brooklyn Boulders, a new 18,000-square-foot climbing gym in Park Slope, Brooklyn, offers programs for corporate groups looking for an athletic approach to teambuilding. The gym has 30-foot grappling walls, a hanging stalactite for advanced climbers, a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge’s archways for scaling, and graffiti walls by local artists. Teambuilding packages can be customized, but activities may include team climbing, where groups of four or five compete to see who can climb a wall the fastest, blindfolded climbing, where teammates guide each other, or non-climbing exercises like obstacle courses. Basic packages start at $1,500 for as many as 15 people and include four hours at the gym, branded T-shirts, and lunch.

Moody’s Investors Services, the company’s credit-rating arm, took in 68% of overall revenue, up 3% from last year, primarily due to increases at the unit’s corporate-finance division.

NY’s public pension money flows into hedge funds
