Experience the beautiful nature within our bustling metropolis. ManhattanCelebrate Earth Day in Central Park. Join the Central Park Conservancy for the Green Apple Music and Arts Festival. Enjoy planting and mulching projects with your family and friends. Get creative with arts and crafts, take a tour, and listen to music and storytelling. The celebration starts this Sunday, April 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Great Hill - enter from the 103rd Street entrance and Central Park West. BronxDon’t miss the 14th Annual EarthFest in Pelham Bay Park. Enjoy the day with a sensory garden experience. Be a part of all our beautiful Earth has to offer with arts & crafts, dance, music, storytelling, a nature walk, and more family fun and activities. There will also be a volunteer project taking place at 10 a.m. - please call (718) 430-4686 to register. The festival is this Sunday, April 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pelham Bay Park - enter the park at Middletown Road and Bruckner Boulevard.BrooklynShow your respect to the Earth through dance. Honor Earth Day with “Earth Dances: Dance the Night Away.” Spend your evening with interpretative performances from the Brooklyn Dance Center. The performance takes place Sunday, April 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Salt Marsh Nature Center at East 33rd Street and Avenue U.QueensGet crafty with nature at Hands-On History: Twig Frames and Leaf Rubbings. Commemorate Rufus King’s love of trees by making a small picture frame from twigs and a colorful leaf rubbing! The cost is $1 per artist. Learn how to be creative with all that the Earth offers. Artists should come to the King Manor Museum in Rufus King Park on Saturday, April 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.Staten IslandExperience a Sneak Preview of Fresh Kills Park. Come witness the dramatic transformation from landfill to bird-filled. You won’t believe your eyes. This is a special access tour and registration is required. Sign up online at www.nyc.gov/parks.
